Choosing First Aid Training - Legal Requirements
The Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations require employers to provide 'adequate and appropriate equipment, facilities and personnel to enable first aid to be given to your employees if they are injured or become ill at work'. What is considered adequate will depend on the circumstances and the results of risk assessments. Staff requiring first aid training should attend First Aid at Work or Emergency First Aid at Work training courses. If staff look after children then Peadiatric First Aid Courses will be deemed as suitable. It is the responsibility of employers to choose adequate training based on the guidance criteria provided by the HSE.
